Monty is a minor character and survivor in The Last Ones.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
Little to nothing is known about Monty's life before the outbreak other than he possibly lived in Summerlyn City. His daughter is Monika. He was also married and enjoyed gardening with his wife. He lost her at some point before or after the apocalypse.

Season One[]
Pre-Appearance[]
Little to nothing is known about Monty's life after the outbreak other than he and his daughter were with a group of survivors for a while in a house surrounded by a strong fence, yet the undead managed to get inside anyway. Monty and Monika were the only two to make it out alive. Eventually, the two ended up in Victoria, a safe-town situated in a housing complex in Summerlyn.
Season Two[]
Old Friends, New Enemies[]
Monty first appears at a feast hosted by Alexis. He witnesses the attempted coup by Derrick to get her banished. His failure leads to his death.
... Until Death Parts Us[]
Monty informs Alexis of all the fruit and vegetables they'll be able to grow thanks to Jenson raiding a plant store nearby.
Trojan[]
Monty appears in the background in this episode talking to Monika, Trudy and Paul.
Trouble Brewing[]
Alexis faces the wrath of the angry residents who are up in arms to discover that Michael will be holding the dead in his lab to conduct experiments. Alexis assures them that they have safety procedures in place including very strong fencing and an armed team to watch the lab at all times. Eventually, with the help of Bernadette, the residents come round. To appease the residents even further, Alexis tells them she wishes to form a council of people who will help her in making decisions. She chooses Howie, Bernadette, and Monty, all of whom accept her offer. The meeting is then adjourned.
Monty later witnesses the arrest of Charlotte and Bobby after they break into Michael's lab.
Last Orders[]
Alexis gathers her committee and tells them they will be kept in a basement and under armed guard during an upcoming meeting with a rival camp for their own safety. They cite they should be present in order to help make decisions. Alexis tells them she wants them out the way in case of an attack. They eventually come around. Hearing the disturbance from outside during the meeting, Bernadette and Monty join Howie in demanding Jason step aside so they can leave. Upon arriving outside, they are devastated to see dozens of zombies have entered the complex. Monty is horrifed to find Monika dead. He cradles her in his arms. Shiro rushes over and shouts at Howie to get Monty inside before he gets himself killed.
The Stand[]
Monty doesn't appear in this episode but Howie mentions he is inside his house in a state after losing Monika.
Seconds Out[]
During the joint funerals for the dead Victorians the following day, Monty attempts to deliver a eulogy for Monika but gets too upset and heads back inside. That night, Monty attends a leadership vote and votes for Howie. Just then, Blaine and his people enter and reveals a new way of life for the residents as Alexis is now head of a dictatorship.
Stranger at the Door[]
Almost four months on, a feast is planned to celebrate the birth of Catelyn's baby, which Monty attends.
No Democracy[]
Monty is eating alongside Trudy, Howie, and Yvonne when Blaine has Paul brutally beaten in the middle of town for stealing from the pantry.
Now. Before. After.[]
When a vengeful Donna drives a car through one of the gates of Victoria and lures a horde of undead inside, Monty watches in horror from his house alongside Paul, Lawrence, Howie, and Yvonne. Paul says they may have to make a run for it but Howie doesn't agree. Paul tells Howie to wake up. The following day, Paul, Yvonne, and Lawrence try to leave, but Blaine kills Paul, sending a message that nobody can go. Monty is later taken outside along with the other civilians and trained how to fight by Carlos and Laurie.
End of This Place[]
Monty and the other residents of Victoria are forced to take part in a battle against the survivors from Midway. Monty witnesses the death of Lawrence at the hands of Carlos when he attempts to flee from the battle. Monty remains alive after the survivors from Midway are triumphant and is furious to see the town ruined and the residents dead. He takes a group at gunpoint as the undead begin to pour in. Charlotte attempts to talk him round and invites him to join them, but he refuses. When Bobby attempts to leave anyway, Monty shoots him in the leg. An enraged Javier responds by shooting Monty dead.
